Pomona Island

28 October 2021 - David Cary

I was part of the team checking traps on Pomona Island this week.

It is great to be back, having missed the last two monthly trap checks due to general busyness at work. I am so grateful for a breather.

We caught a rather large number of rats, 11 on my run alone, there were 8 of us on the island for the day.

The good news is the stoat that was showing up on trail cam footage seems to have been caught, thanks Gary for bring out that maggoty package for genetic analisys.

The weather was warm and it was a fabulous day out, thanks to the impressively well organised Pomona Island Charitable Trust for inviting me. Cake on the boat home is always a winner for me.
