In early May I finally made ot to Pomona Island again after a difficult summer for me. I was due to service my moth audio recorders in early February but stuff happens.
I packrafted in from Motatapu Hut on beautiful calm water, spent 2 nights and a huge 10 hour day getting to all my far flung moths.
Then paddled to Rona Island on burly intimidating seas, for more moth work and a wonderful, calm, sunny afternoon and amazing night of vivid dreams.
The home stretch back to Moturau Hut was quite windy, again, but fortunately safely navigable.
Great trip and a huge relief to get my moths back on the job, and a new batch of data for the machines to grind away on.
